My thrift store expedition has begun!
First store I went to was RETROFIT
Retrofit
Very nice thrift store with a 1970’s to 1990’s style and feel.
Retrofit’s been open for about 4 and a half years now.
Prices were all very nice and all of the clothes they had were super cute.
All the staff were so kind and considerate 🙂
“Our store mostly specializes in either vintage from the 1970’s, 80’s, or 90’s or newer resale from places like Urban Outfitters, Forever21, H&M, American Apparel,” said owner of Retrofit, Katie Cobler.

Retrofit has a $5 rack daily, but when I went, they had another extra rack. Score. 😉
I looked around the other racks but spent most of my time looking through the $5 racks.
Surprisingly, the $5 racks had some good stuff.
“We buy the clothes from the public. We are a little different from thrift stores because we give cash or store credit to people who bring in their old items, and we give them either 30% cash of what we price it for or 50% store credit,” Cobler said.
She told me that she prices the clothes depending on condition, if it’s vintage, or how trendy it is at that time.
“Things that are kind of symbiotic to vintage work well. Because that whole vintage style are in right now,” said Cobler.
Vintage style is definitely popular right now so Retrofit was the perfect thrift store to shop at.
Retrofit is located right next to Urban Outfitters in Downtown San Luis Obispo.
